Annual Leave & Sick Leave

Annual Leave

  • 80 hours per year for full-time employees.
  • 750 hours cap.
  •            
  • Longevity Annual Leave (6+ years): earn additional hours per year (see table below).
  • Leave of Absence period does not count toward longevity annual leave increase.

Sick Leave

  • 96 hours per year.
  • 48 unused hours on anniversary date are converted to annual leave.
  • Sick Leave percentage payout at termination is based on years of service.

Additional Guidelines

  • Accrued hours can be used after completing 13 pay periods (not applicable for job-basis employees).
  • Anniversary leave is the 26th pay period worked and may vary depending on unpaid leave. Anniversary leave is not calculated based on your hire date.

Leaves & Time Off – Additional Details

Floating & Birthday Holidays, Bereavement, and Parental Leave

  • Full-time employees are entitled to 3 Floating Holidays per fiscal year:
    • Use it or lose it, and cannot be taken in hourly segments.
    • Can be used after the 9th pay period.
  • Birthday holiday can be taken up to 6 months after the date of birth, but cannot be taken in hourly segments.
  • Bereavement leave is 5 days for full-time employees.
  • After 12 months of employment, Paid Parental Leave of 12 weeks is available: 100% pay for the first 6 weeks and 50% pay for the last 6 weeks.

Leave of Absence (not FMLA)

  • If approved, unpaid leave can be taken for up to one year.
  • Employees on probation are not eligible.
  • After the 3rd unpaid pay period, benefits stop.
  • The employee is responsible for paying the total cost of any benefits (employer + employee premium).
  • Unpaid Leave of Absence is a qualifying life event; benefits can be modified.
