Leaves & Time Off – Additional Details
Floating & Birthday Holidays, Bereavement, and Parental Leave
- Full-time employees are entitled to 3 Floating Holidays per fiscal year:
- Use it or lose it, and cannot be taken in hourly segments.
- Can be used after the 9th pay period.
- Birthday holiday can be taken up to 6 months after the date of birth, but cannot be taken in hourly segments.
- Bereavement leave is 5 days for full-time employees.
- After 12 months of employment, Paid Parental Leave of 12 weeks is available: 100% pay for the first 6 weeks and 50% pay for the last 6 weeks.
Leave of Absence (not FMLA)
- If approved, unpaid leave can be taken for up to one year.
- Employees on probation are not eligible.
- After the 3rd unpaid pay period, benefits stop.
- The employee is responsible for paying the total cost of any benefits (employer + employee premium).
- Unpaid Leave of Absence is a qualifying life event; benefits can be modified.
